My system showed four (0 through to 3).ģ. Use "aplay -l" to list the audio devices. Disabled onboard audio (to simplify things and make the HDMI device CARD 0).Ģ. Whether this is in the hardware or just due to theġ. It became apparent that there are four hdmi devices, of which only one I also cleared the users pulseaudio configuration, but I don't know if <<<< I did not do this and it is working fine so far Options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=8 <<< realtek high definition audio driver for linux mint

Having looked over the logs a little it looks like its looking for something called libc.so in a folder called /lib/ but in my install the folder is called /lib64/ and the file is not there. run driver 275.19 I am trying to diag install problem might have a nibble as to why it fails this is pure speculation as a reason but maybe it will point a smart person to the problem. My conclusion is that this is a kernel bug.I know everyone following this thread is awaiting a response and this is not it!!! Just adding my post to the stack same issue with the GT430 and HDMI audio not workingĭual boot system LM11/64 and winXPSP3 sound works in win, but nothing in LM I tried in vain to install using. It also behaves the exact same way on Fedora. When I then shut down that VM, and modprobe `snd_hda_intel` manually, I can use the front panel audio jack on Linux just fine until I reboot (the reboot, after removing the blacklist). So, to rule out any hardware issues I blacklisted the `snd_hda_intel` kernel module, set up a Windows 10 VM and passed through my audio controller PCI device, which resulted in flawless audio playback on the front panel audio. To rule out pipewire, I used `speakertest` and `aplay` to play on the raw ALSA device, which also looked like it was working, but no sound came out. Generally, everything looks correct on Linux, everything gets recognized correctly and the sound looks like it's playing. My problem is that the front panel audio jack is not working while the back one works just fine. My Intel HD Audio controller is the Realtek ALC887 (that is, according to my mainboard manual it gets recognized as an ALC891 in ALSA but I think it doesn't matter as that is just a rebrand as far as I can tell).
